On his debut EP, Matsoaka (Mats Lundgren) has dug deep for samples. As a former record-dealer who sold 5000+ vinyls to rare-groove-collectors in Japan, he's used to dusty fingers.
The transition from collecting to producing came naturally through collaboration within the duo ”Dagfest”, whose output, much like his own productions, is assembled through accumulating and mutating samples from various genres. Together they have created something like a musical equivalent of a Jazz Festival on rollerskates. Alone, he sounds more like a charter trip through the continent armed with a kaleidoscope.

His fascination for discovering unheard sounds goes hand in hand with his curiosity for putting them within new soundscapes.
For instance, ”Clouds in The Coffee” might sound incoherent at first listen, until discovering the common denominator, the 70ies.
So sit back, relax, fasten seatbelts and have your order! Matsoaka will take you on a trip through genres as ”Cosmic Lambada”, ”Kraut-Trance” ,”House-Of-Oldies-House” and "Horror Disco". Captain says, -please try the Dirty Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives!
In the near future, expect more barely-believable-genres from Mats.
